We took the star ferry to Tsim Tsa Tsui after dinner at Restaurant Yung Kee. Our first stop at TST is Peninsula Hotel as we have to collect the famous handmade mooncake (奶黃酥皮月餅) from Spring Moon Chinese Restaurant (嘉麟樓,半島酒店) which we have already pre-book and paid for it before we leave for the trip. It is advice to pre-book the mooncake to prevent disappointment.
奶黃酥皮月餅 from 嘉麟樓,半島酒店
The mooncake was so tiny and it cost HKD198 for eight pieces, anyway it was delicious.
When we are at the hotel to collect the mooncake, I saw there is a notice saying that all of the handmade mooncake are sold off. However the mooncake which made by the food factory are still available. There is no preservative use for this handmade mooncake, so it has to be keeping inside the fridge.
The next stop is Kowloon Hotel which is located next to Peninsula Hotel. Yes, we order mooncake from them too. It was much cheaper, selling at HKD148 with 30% discount (HKD103.60 after discount) for order received before 31 Aug 2009. So, we submit our order before 31 August and inform to collect the mooncake by September.
By the time we reach Kowloon Hotel, the mooncake counter is about to close and lucky that we reach there a minute before. With both hands full of mooncake, we decided to return to the hotel for a rest. Instead of taking MTR, we decided walk from TST to our hotel, which made us even more tire!!!
